APC Forum Concludes Strategic Meeting in Uyo
UYO, 14 July 2025 – The Forum of Ward Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State has thrown its weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Governor Umo Eno for second terms in office, following a high-level meeting convened at Watbridge Hotels, Uyo.


Bringing together 329 Ward Chairmen, the assembly sought to enhance intra-party synergy and revitalise strategic direction for the political future of the state. Deliberations focused on party unity, ideological rejuvenation, and reaffirmation of loyalty to APC leadership at all levels.
Resolutions: Loyalty, Commendations and Endorsements
Unwavering Support for President Tinubu
The Forum reaffirmed its “unshakeable loyalty and support” for His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, lauding his economic reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda, especially his assent to the new Tax reform law. Chairmen described the President’s achievements as exemplary and crucial to sustaining internal party harmony and Nigerian democracy. The collective pledged their unwavering support for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
Commendation of Senator Akpabio
Deep appreciation was extended to Senate President Godswill Akpabio for his pivotal role in the APC’s rapid expansion across Akwa Ibom and the South-South, as well as his instrumental efforts during the Ward Congresses. The Forum commended Akpabio for connecting the state to the centre and assured him of full grassroots support for his own 2027 re-election ambitions.
Applause for Governor Umo Eno
The Forum congratulated Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, on his recent decision to join the APC, recognising his drive for inclusive governance under the Arise Agenda. The chairmen praised his engagement with the party’s structure and pledged collaboration to realise his vision and support his leadership continuity in 2027.
State and Grassroots Leadership
Chairmen lauded State APC Chairman, Obong Stephen Leo Ntukekpo, for effective leadership in integrating new members despite emerging challenges, passing a resounding vote of confidence and vowing to guard party interests against sabotage. A similar expression of confidence was given to the Forum’s own leadership, headed by Comrade Edidiong Charles Demas, for uniting all 329 ward chairmen.
Call for Reconciliation
The Communiqué emphasised reconciliation and forgiveness among party members, echoing Governor Umo Eno’s call for peace and inclusivity, with an aim to foster sustained party unity in Akwa Ibom.
Grassroots Mobilisation Ahead
Summing up, the APC Ward Chairmen reiterated their commitment to deepening party structures, upholding principles, and driving mobilisation efforts at the grassroots, ahead of the 2027 elections.
