Ukanafun, Akwa Ibom – In a decisive gathering held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ukanafun Local Government Area convened at the Council Secretariat, Ikot Akpa Nkuk, to deliberate on critical political matters shaping the region’s future. The meeting was characterised by a unified spirit and clear direction, underscored by a series of resolute endorsements and commendations.

Presided over by Mr Akaninyene Ukpanah, the chapter chairman, the assembly brought together key figures including Rt. Hon. A central highlight was the unanimous vote of confidence in the current Executive Governor, His Excellency Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, Ph.D, in recognition of his impactful governance, particularly in healthcare, education, infrastructure development, and promoting unity across Akwa Ibom State. The governor’s ambitious vision clearly resonated with attendees, who pledged to support his continued leadership through 2031.

The stakeholders further declared their steadfast support for the re-election bid of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, praising his stewardship at the nation’s helm. Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON, representing Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District and serving as Senate President and Chairman of the 10th National Assembly, also earned unanimous backing for re-election.
Praises were accorded to Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem for his effective legislative representation and committee leadership, as well as Hon. Emem Udom, whose dedicated two-year tenure in the state assembly was warmly acknowledged. In addition, Hon. Uyo Ukpanah received accolades for the significant infrastructural advancements realised in Ukanafun within the past ten months.
The meeting further endorsed the leadership framework proposed by the State Leader of the APC, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, appointing local government chairmen as interim leaders until substantive appointments are formalised — a move signalling organisational cohesion and forward planning.
Concluding the event, the stakeholders affirmed their commitment to progress as a single, indivisible entity, embracing all APC candidates for the upcoming elections.
The communiqué encapsulating these resolutions was moved by Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem and seconded by Hon. Ememabasi Udom before receiving unanimous ratification.
