Governor Umo Eno has directed the Ministry of Works to carry out a detailed survey of potholes and damaged road sections in Uyo metropolis for swift repair. This initiative aims to enhance infrastructure quality and ensure smooth movement for residents across Akwa Ibom State.

The government recognizes that recent heavy rainfall has caused significant road damage, leading to pothole formation. Authorities assure that road rehabilitation will begin promptly once rainfall subsides, focusing on durable repairs.
In addition, desilting of drains and clearing of blocked waterways will start across Uyo to reduce flooding and protect road infrastructure.
Under the ARISE Agenda’s Infrastructure Development programme, the state is committed to ongoing road construction and routine maintenance, covering over 964 kilometres of new and existing roads and bridges. These efforts seek to improve mobility, road safety, and the aesthetic standard of urban centres.
Residents and drivers are encouraged to exercise patience as the Ministry of Works prepares to respond efficiently to the state’s infrastructure needs.
