The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno, has appointed the Member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House of Representatives’ Public Procurement Committee, Rep. Unyime Idem, to the five-member Akwa Ibom State All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat Building Committee.
The committee was inaugurated by Governor Umo Eno during his recent visit to the APC State Secretariat at No. 6, Ekpo Obot Street, Uyo. The Chairman of the Committee is Sir Monday Ebong Uko, while other members include Rep. Unyime Idem, the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo, former Deputy Governor His Excellency Obong Nsima Ekere, and Senator Ita Enang.
Addressing the gathering in his capacity as Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Caucus in the House of Representatives, Rep. Unyime Idem pledged the unwavering support of National Assembly members for the Governor’s administration. He further assured that the caucus would work diligently to secure at least 80 per cent of votes across all ten federal constituencies in the 2027 general elections, thereby guaranteeing a comprehensive victory for the Governor and the party.
The meeting served to further strengthen party unity and solidarity, fostering optimism for a more prosperous future in Akwa Ibom State.
Earlier, Rep. Idem joined His Excellency Governor Umo Eno in commissioning the newly constructed auditorium of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council. The event also featured the official handover of brand new vehicles to members of the Comrade Amos Etuk-led Executive Committee of the Union.
