Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has issued a strong warning to residents of coastal communities, stating that any home or property used to shelter criminals will be demolished by the government. He delivered this warning during the Monthly Government House Prayer Service held at The Latter House Chapel on Saturday, 15 November 2025, which focused on the theme, “Jehovah El Roi.”

During the service, Governor Eno announced the appointment of Rev. Dr. Mrs Enobong Ibok as the Leader of the Government House Prayer Team. He praised her spiritual maturity and dedication to the work of God. In her message, Rev. Ibok encouraged attendees to remain loyal to the Governor and the administration, and she called for continuous prayers for the State and its development agenda.

Governor Eno reaffirmed his commitment to the All Progressives Congress and restated his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Senate President, and himself ahead of the next election. He stressed that cooperation with the Federal Government is important for the progress of Akwa Ibom State.

He urged government appointees to demonstrate loyalty, discipline, and commitment, and announced a meeting with all appointees scheduled for the nineteenth of the month.

Outlining upcoming political activities, the Governor mentioned the Home Coming weekend for political appointees, which will run from Friday 21 to Sunday 23 November. He also announced the General Meeting of all political parties, scheduled to take place at the local government headquarters on Saturday, 22 November. He encouraged strong mobilisation for the ongoing INEC registration exercise, which he described as essential for strengthening political representation.

Looking ahead, Governor Eno confirmed that a Unity Concert will take place on 6 December at the International Worship Centre, followed by the State Christmas Carols on 19 December. He also announced financial support for new robes and other appreciation packages for the International Worship Centre Choir in recognition of their dedication.

On governance, Governor Eno stated that the government has fulfilled its obligations when it provides infrastructure and a fair environment where all citizens can thrive. He commended the transparency of the recent Computer Based Test recruitment exercise and applauded all applicants for their courage and confidence in the process.

The Governor called for continued prayers for peace in the State and restated his commitment to stability. He again warned residents, particularly those in coastal areas, against accommodating criminals and stated clearly that any property used as a hideout will be pulled down.

Governor Eno concluded by noting that the appointment of Rev. Dr. Mrs Enobong Ibok reflects the spiritual direction of his administration, and he emphasised the importance of faith, unity, peace, and responsible citizenship in the development of Akwa Ibom State.
