In a spirited demonstration of loyalty and support, the people of Etinan Federal Constituency have unequivocally pledged their continued backing for Governor Umo Eno, PhD, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as they seek re-election in 2027. This declaration was made amid a wave of endorsements during a significant community gathering held at the Nsit Ubium Council Headquarters in Ikot Edibon.

Governor Eno further solidified this bond by distributing a substantial sum of ₦361,450,000 to 844 beneficiaries, comprising farmers, traders, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and recipients of transport vehicles including cars and mini buses. These grants and equipment were part of the governor’s ongoing efforts to empower constituents within the Etinan Federal Constituency.

Describing the event as the grand finale in a series of Town Hall meetings between the governor and his people, those present expressed unanimous support for Governor Eno’s continuation in office. The governor expressed gratitude for the overwhelming turnout, describing the enthusiasm as “organic, spontaneous and electrifying.”

Governor Eno revealed that he had received needs assessments from all federal constituencies and would prioritise critical requests for inclusion in the 2026 state budget, with some being addressed under the current financial plan.

Highlighting his administration’s recent Impact Assessment Summit, the governor noted the positive influence of his government across all local government areas in Akwa Ibom State. Where shortcomings were identified, corrective measures would be promptly implemented.

He also reiterated his commitment to youth development, urging local council chairmen to donate 1,000 square metres of land each for the establishment of Youth Friendly Centres across all local government areas, stressing the importance of computer training for young people.

The crescendo of the event featured a voice vote spearheaded by Otobong Bob, the Nsit Ubium State Constituency lawmaker, and seconded by Hon Eric Akpan of Nsit Ibom State Constituency, with the entire assembly affirming their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates—Governor Eno and President Tinubu.

Senator Effiong Bob, political leader and respected stakeholder of the constituency, underscored the governor’s performance, emphasising that the widespread acceptance of Governor Eno across the state was testament to his effective leadership. “We are not here to debate what you have or haven’t done but to acknowledge that you have delivered your best in these past two years,” he stated, further endorsing President Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Traditional authority was represented by His Eminence Ntenyin Solomon Etuk, Oku Ibom Ibibio and President-General of the Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers, who praised Governor Eno as an instrument of divine accomplishment for Akwa Ibom State. He noted the large attendance as a clear indicator of the people’s confidence and affection for the governor. “As custodians of tradition, we are proud to stand with you and pray for your continued success,” the monarch affirmed, applauding the governor’s recognition as Nigeria’s Best Performing Governor and urging him to maintain his excellent work.

Local government leaders also expressed their unwavering support. Alfred Charles, Chairman of Nsit Ubium LGA, hailed Governor Eno as “the pride of Etinan Federal Constituency,” assuring steadfast solidarity from the constituency. This sentiment was echoed by Uko Udom, SAN, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, representing the State Executive Council members from the area.

Earlier in the programme, Secretary to the State Government, Mr Enobong Uwah, described Governor Eno as a compassionate, inclusive, and outstanding leader who has not only earned the love of his people in a brief span of two years but also attained academic distinction through his doctoral degree. He commended the people of Nsit Ubium for steadfastly supporting their governor.

The event concluded with the symbolic presentation of cheques to selected beneficiaries, handed over by the State Chairman of the APC, Obong Stephen Ntokekpo.

This gathering marked a decisive moment for Etinan Federal Constituency as it publicly reaffirmed its faith in the leadership and vision of Governor Umo Eno and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for another term in office.
