Membership Revalidation Exercise

  • Announcement:
During a familiarisation visit to the APC State Secretariat in Uyo, Governor Eno revealed that each ward will receive a membership register—distributed through the ward chairmen.
  • Timeline:
The revalidation process is scheduled to begin on 4 August 2025 and continue for approximately one month, affording all interested individuals ample time to participate.
  • Purpose and Scope:
The Governor emphasised that the exercise is necessary to establish an authentic list of party members, dispelling issues of pretence and non-genuine affiliations.
  • Inclusivity:
All individuals—regardless of tenure in the party—are required to register, after which the national Party Secretariat will conduct a digital capture of all memberships.

Call for Party Unity

Governor Eno urged every APC member to demonstrate commitment and unity of purpose, discouraging internal disputes and factionalism for the overall benefit of Akwa Ibom State.

Federal Initiatives and Presidential Support

  • Empowerment Plans:
He mentioned a planned federal empowerment project—one beneficiary per ward—under the President Tinubu administration.
  • Praise for President Tinubu:
Governor Eno reiterated support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, applauding his efforts to stabilise the national economy, prompt disbursement of state funds, and ongoing project delivery. He called for unwavering support for both the President and the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, particularly with an eye towards the 2027 elections.

Gratitude and Steady Progress

  • Acknowledge Support:
Governor Eno expressed gratitude to party members for their continued backing, referencing the seamless transition to the APC, steady governance, and milestones achieved under the ARISE Agenda.
  • Phased Engagement:
He stressed the importance of a deliberate, step-by-step approach to party consolidation and warned against undue haste.

Committee for New APC Secretariat

A ten-member committee, chaired by Sir Monday Ebong Uko, has been inaugurated to search for suitable land, mobilise resources, and oversee construction of a befitting state party Secretariat.

Party Leadership Commendations

Obong Stephen Ntukekpo, State APC Chairman, commended Governor Eno for his inclusive leadership, recognising efforts to bridge divides and foster harmony across party lines. He described the Secretariat as a potent symbol of unity and hope.
